Hebrews 12:15-17 The Message (MSG)

14-17 Work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God. Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity. KEEP a sharp eye out for weeds of bitter discontent. A thistle or two gone to seed can ruin a whole garden in no time.
Watch out!! for the Esau syndrome: trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite. You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God’s blessing—but by then it was too late, tears or no tears.

25 years ago, an elder tells me at the wedding reception "I know in my spirit that it was God who brought the two of you together"
He has since returned to the Lord, but those words are as clear as spoken yesterday.

April 24

The show floor officially opened today, but I went to FIVE sessions at NAB and barely saw it. I got to the Convention Center bright and early around 7:30am and got in line for Starbucks. Somehow I ended up with a free coffee, so weâre off to a good start! I started my sessions off at 8:30 with a guy named Rich Harrington talking about advanced Photoshop skills for motion graphics artists.

I popped in for what turned out to be a disappointing Intel session. I ended up leaving and ran into Alan Farmer on the floor. We wandered around together, checking out lights and a couple cameras. We met this lovely gentleman at the Arri booth. My time on the floor was short-lived; I had to hurry back for a 2pm session with Joey from School of Motion. Heâs such a cool dude! His was called Design Hacks for Non-Designers. As a non-designer who knows designers, I got a lot more out of that session than Iâd expected.

At 3:30 was a session called One-Man Crew Essential Production with Eduardo Angel. I did not get much out of that one, but at 5:30 I had another Joey session that was freaking awesome. The session, Advanced Expressions in AE, was sure to go over my head, but somehow Joey made it all completely understandable! So basically now I can do advanced expressions.

My brain was pretty full once all that was over with, so I met Patrick Flahertyâwho I ran into in the Joey sessionsâat the beer garden. He was chatting with a couple of Jamaican dudes who seemed pretty cool. After a quick bite and a margarita, we caught a bus home. Turns out, the Jamaican dudes, Twain and Conrad, are staying in the same hotel as me! AND they knew about an Adobe party that I was unaware of. We ended up drinking wine and getting to know each other at Señor Frogs. Theyâre cool dudes! They also talked me into buying tickets to the big Supermeet tomorrow. Itâs supposed to be the biggest party/meetup of them all at NAB. We shall see!
