This is a photo I took of Millie (aka my biggest littlest helper BLH) this morning when we went for a slap up breakfast in Millhouses Park Cafe. She had, for breakfast, sausages (her staple diet), beans and CHIPS! I had to ask if they would do them and I have never in the 9yrs 3mnths of her life let her have chips for breakfast but today, I did.
"Why?!" you might ask. So I'll tell you. For the past few weeks probably months BLH has had a wobbly tooth. A baby one but our dentist said it wouldn't normally fall out til she was 11. She's kept wobbling and wobbling and sitting with her fingers in her mouth messing with it for those months and last night it decided, with a little help, that it had had enough.
It was literally hanging, back to front out of her mouth. Rubbing her gum. And these little teeth are quite sharp underneath. I told her we had to get it out. "You pull it!" I said...not that I'm a wimp but I thought it was worth a try. She pulled a tiny one out when we were on holiday in Whitby years ago. I tried to remind her of that last night "remember the field of cows?" There was a field of cows near our caravan. She didn't remember. Anyway amid sobs and screeches and cries of "don't you pull it!" I decided that if we didn't get it out it would be swallowed. "It won't bleed it's barely in your mouth" I told her.
Eventually she gave in and let me touch it and after messing about with "do it" "don't" "do it" she let me put a tissue over it and out it came. "Hooray!" I thought...til she followed me into the bathroom with a mouth full of blood! And then the crying really started. We sorted it with a few swills of water but I felt a bit bad that I said it wouldn't bleed, and it did, a lot.
Anyway all was ok. The tooth fairy came and left her 1p I mean £1! ; ) and today it's as if it's never been there. However, now she's started wobbling one on the other side...
Day 85, done. And this photo of my beautiful, messy haired girl, brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face.
